Wooden Toucan ChickToucan's are easily recognisable by their very large, brightly coloured orange beaks. The purpose of their beak is to help them reach for fruit while also allowing them to manage their body temperature. Their bright colours actually act as camouflage for them amongst the colourful plants that are native to South America where they live. When a Toucan fledgling is born it doesn't have it's large beak, this is actually developed over time as it grows.
