Red Deporte health program in Zambia continues its cooperation with Mother of Mercy based in Chilanga, but also delivering educational activities for health in the community school of Lusaka.
Isabel Ezquerra has carried out over several months of intense work, at the head of the nursing and medical consultation, with the preparation and administration of drugs, control of vital signs and development of non- invasive techniques in the hospitalization area. She has also organized the Pharmacy Service, or antiretroviral treatment and prescription. Simultaneously, specific training has been given; in this case on the correct performance of techniques such as asepsis and the use of sterile material.
The outreach service has been promoted in the villages surrounding Mother of Merc clinic. These families lack the resources and access to transportation to get to the nearest clinic or health post. Some of the refugee families are also provided with a basic family food kit and clothing.
Zambia’s health program complements health care with educational activity, especially in a sports setting. Our coordinator, Akim, carried out by Isabel and computer monitors Zambia, numerous workshops on nutrition, malaria prevention, health and basic hygiene and alcohol and drugs prevention. The most used sport has been tag rugby and adapted games, many of them with the rugby ball.
