Tag rugby to promote community health in Zambia

Red Deporte’s program in Zambia focuses on improving health in communities through the prevention of HIV/AIDS, malaria and the promotion of basic health and hygiene. Among the health promotion activities, the use of Tag Rugby as a meeting point with the youngest is gaining special relevance. Tag Rugby is a variation of the sport of rugby that reduces contact between players, avoiding injuries and minimizing the harshness of the sport.
Our coordinator, Akim, is doing a fantastic job together with the medical staff of Red Deporte, in this case Elena and Rosa, doctors who participate in educational activities and health intervention with the collaborating centers of Red Deporte. During 2018 we have worked with the peripheral communities of Lusaka and given numerous preventive health sessions, with a large participation of the most vulnerable youth.
