Red Deporte continues to empower the population of sub-Saharan origin residing in Madrid, with the aim of reducing their dependency and achieving increased autonomy, especially from the economic and labour sphere. Over the last year, Red Deporte has had the privilege of collaborating with SERCADE’s Afrique Program, which favours the networking of migration entities to promote a dignified reception. The activities have been carried out in the SERCADE day centre, such as the Casa Boza residence, to promote social and labour integration and the creation of lasting support networks.
Red Deporte, uses activities based on football and workshops in the classroom. At Casa Boza, sports workshops are held with mixed socio-educational intervention teams from Red Deporte and SERCADE. Interpersonal skills are worked in a playful, very open and participatory environment. In the SERCADE and Casa Boza day center, workshops are held in the classroom, addressing all aspects of the journey to employability: curriculum development, reinforcement of presentation and interview, internet job search techniques, organization, habits healthy or personal and interpersonal skills.
The objective of Red Deporte is to level the field of access to employment, for a population that needs it urgently and who, due to cultural, linguistic or social factors, have this very complicated task in many cases. Most arrive in Spain in disadvantaged conditions, with many obstacles in their life project, the main objective being to find a place in sectors such as hospitality, construction, logistics or services. However, there are also numerous supports, institutional and from social networks and fraternity, which also occur in the sports field, to which Red Deporte contributes.
