On September 24, a very special soccer ball has rolled at the Puskás Aréna stadium in Budapest. And what makes it so special? We let you know!
UEFA Foundation for Children, in collaboration with Adidas and a small group of NGOs that promote football as a tool for social integration in Europe, launched the project to create a unique ball. In it, there are drawings of boys and girls, about how they understand how soccer can change the world; how it makes them happier and how this sport becomes a path to their dreams.
Red Deporte sent more than 200 drawings of children from Spain to UEFA Foundation for Children. Finally, those from Patricia, Yolanda and Daniela were chosen. They belong to “Salesianos El Pilar” school, based in Madrid.
It all started in 2019, and it was in the European Super Cup Final between Sevilla CF and Bayern Munich that it became reality. A game, by the way, that will go down in history, in addition to being played with this ball, for being the first with an attending public in a long time, due to the COVID crisis.
UEFA Foundation for Children has given a ball to each of the winning participants. Our friends, posing with it, and wearing a huge smile behind the masks, but clear in their eyes.
Congratulations to everyone who made possible this fantastic initiative!
